This time, it’s personal! After directing the J-StarX women’s program, I missed Japan too much to stay away. I booked a 2-week, action-packed personal trip to travel across 6 different cities—Tokyo, Sapporo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Osaka, and Yokohama—to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and interview the brilliant founders shaping Japan's local tech scenes.
We kick things off with a massive "unboxing" of all the unique gifts and snacks I brought back (yes, including purple sweet potato Pocky, cantaloupe Kit Kats, and plastic Godzilla toys for my nephew).
Then, we're hitting the road to explore what makes regional Japanese startup hubs so special, featuring visits to Station AI in Nagoya and local interviews with homegrown and international founders from Argentina, Singapore, and China.
