Try Everything 2026: Three investor meetings planned. Two happened. And both taught us something.
Yesterday was an interesting day for CursusX and encirkl at Try Everything 2026 in Seoul. I had three scheduled investor meetings. The first one, with Catallyze, simply did not happen. I was there on time. The Try Everything team tried to contact the representative via WhatsApp and even made an announcement at the venue, but nobody appeared. So yes, sometimes founders get ghosted too. π
Fortunately, the other two conversations were much more valuable.
Westure Ventures challenged us on exactly the points investors should challenge an early startup on: numbers, customers and revenue. A working product is important, but ultimately the market has to prove that somebody is willing to pay for it.
SIVentures gave us another very clear message: start. The product exists. Now we need to build the company and demonstrate that we can turn encirkl into a real business. One particularly useful discussion was about funding. A β¬500,000 investment for around 20% equity was described as a realistic Pre-Seed scenario. But there was another important lesson for us: for a German VC, establishing the company and starting from Germany, in our case Berlin, can make investment significantly more realistic. That gives us plenty to think about.
Yesterday wasn't about coming home with an investment agreement. It was about finding out what needs to happen next. And that became much clearer: Build the company. Get paying customers. Generate numbers. Keep moving. That is exactly what we intend to do.
