SkalePLUS at KSGC 2024: Driving Innovation Through PoC Projects
As part of the 2024 K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC), SkalePLUS proudly accelerated four groundbreaking startups through real Proof of Concept (PoC) projects here in Korea. These PoCs not only validated their innovative ideas but also created significant market traction.
Let’s look closer into each of these exciting projects.
1- Food Tech Innovation: Tasted Better's Low-Carb Pasta
SkalePLUS partnered with a renowned fine dining Italian restaurant to introduce a unique low-carb pasta, designed to cater to health-conscious consumers without compromising on taste. This partnership marked the first successful PoC execution, which garnered attention from both the food industry and health-conscious customers looking for a better alternative in traditional pasta dishes.
2- Healthcare Solution: BBalance's Balance Mat
Another standout project was with a cutting-edge healthcare startup that developed a balance mat designed to improve physical therapy and wellness. SkalePLUS facilitated a partnership with therapy clinics to bring this mat to market for the first time in Korea. Infct, for this startup we conducted two PoCs that not only impressed therapists and doctors but also generated significant market interest, signaling strong potential for this solution to scale across Korea and beyond.

3- Sustainability in Construction: PLANA's Eco-Friendly Deck
One of the most forward-thinking PoCs involved a sustainability startup creating a high-quality, recyclable decks for outdoor construction. Through a multi-party partnership with construction companies, the product — a durable and environmentally friendly deck — was built and tested for the first time in Korea. This PoC highlights the future of sustainable building materials and aligns perfectly with the growing demand for eco-conscious solutions across industries.

4- EV Battery Swapping Technology from Open Energy
As part of our selective support for the 2024 KSGC cohort, SkalePLUS worked with an electric mobility startup exploring battery swapping technology. Through collaboration with local EV stakeholders and conference engagement, the solution was introduced and positioned for integration into Korea’s growing mobility landscape. This milestone served as a critical first step in showcasing the potential for reducing EV downtime and supporting more efficient, sustainable transportation systems.
